At this year’s IfraExpo 2007 in Vienna, the system provider from the Westfalian town of Sassenberg, Germany, will present a number of new solutions for the newspaper printing industry.
With the contex.lb and contex.mb rubber blanket cleaning units, technotrans is launching a new product line. The cross-flow filtration unit delta.f also makes its premiere as the latest addition to the company’s line of dampening solution units. In addition, the new TCP 200/16 pump further expands offerings in the field of automatic ink supply systems. With a rate of 2,000 ccm per double stroke, the TCP 200/16 pump feeds into the ink units of the printing press.
Cleaning systemsThe latest innovation by technotrans in rubber blanket washing units, the contex.lb, will receive its worldwide premiere. This washing system with integrated brush is specifically designed for use in single width newspaper, semi-commercial and heatset printing. It takes more than a brief glance at this product to learn about its many innovative features. Its ease of use and outstanding performance characteristics are sure to impress.
A newly developed dosing technology and self-adjusting, moveable blade enable you to precisely control your use of washing liquid. This can have a positive effect on operating costs in your printing company. For example, washing sludge is discharged automatically, providing an efficient solution to time-consuming cleaning activities. With minimal technology required in terms of supply and disposal devices, the contex.lb washing unit is a cost effective solution that can be installed quickly and easily in a printing press.
An additional product, the contex.mb, provides a solution for a fully automated washing process in double or triple width newspaper printing presses. The solution covers pre-conditioning, intermediate cleaning, run-out and final cleaning of blanket and satellite cylinders.
Use of a narrow, moveable brush enables efficient cleaning without residue, which can considerably reduce operating costs, wear and tear, and maintenance. In addition, the weight of the units has been reduced significantly – up to 50% compared to other cleaning systems.
The contex.mb cleans with warm water, which improves cleaning quality and dissolves paper dust and dirt more easily from the rubber blanket. The liquid used during cleaning is continuously extracted without residue and collected centrally. This also eliminates splashing and misting during the washing process. The collected liquid can then be fed into the ecoclean.line, the optional washing agent recycling system. The result is an environmentally friendly solution that practically operates itself.
Practice-oriented details allow the system to be installed and upgraded without tools and to keep calibration needs to a minimum. This significantly reduces maintenance and operating costs. The flexible design options of the system enable adaptation to the geometry of different printing units.
Dampening solution dosingDampening solution, composition and dosing are core competences at technotrans. Apart from the requirements for reliable and precise dampening solution dosing, it is also important how the additives are supplied. The multidos dampening solution dosing system is a centralized, fully automatic solution designed to supply other printing presses with precisely conditioned dampening solution. Depending on the configuration, up to three fluids can be mixed with water in the central multidos unit, e.g. water plus hardening agent plus additives plus IPA substitute. The liquids are drawn in from big containers or supplied in a suitable manner from a central supply system. The dosing process relies on specified setpoints and the mixture is prepared and stored temporarily in an auxiliary tank. The standardized dampening solution is then fed to the connected circulators through a main line using a magnet-coupled stainless steel feed pump. The various dampening solution units signal the multidos unit via cable connection, depending on fill level.
Dampening solution filtrationWith the new delta.f, technotrans is presenting a cross-flow filtration system at the IfraExpo 2007, which considerably reduces the used dampening solution return in newspaper printing. The used return flow of the spray dampening systems typically flows directly to a disposal unit. With the delta.f, this waste is collected, recycled and returned to the process. The dripping and reflex water flows directly into the working tank of the delta.f without temporary storage. The liquid is then cleaned removing solids and oils again using a special ceramic membrane so that it can be reused in the printing process. This direct process prevents the liquid from being stored with risk of contamination.
The cleaning process is fully automated and runs in parallel to printing without affecting other processes. The delta.f is operated without consumables, only the membrane must be cleaned from time to time – just click a button. Additionally, the unit automatically monitors the system and signals the user, providing advance notice of required maintenance.
According to technotrans, the delta.f cleans dampening solution up to 99%. This dampening solution would normally be discharged to a disposal unit. However, the delta.f reduces disposal costs as well as the price of new additives. As standard for the entire family of technotrans peripheral devices, the cross-flow filtration system can be added at any time to existing systems.
High performance pump for central ink supply systemsIn the field of central ink supply systems, technotrans brings to market more than 20 years of experience. With turnkey installations around the world, the system provider has secured its place among leading specialists in this field. We accompany you from the drawing board to the first liter of ink in your press. Several new innovations will be presented at the IfraExpo 2007. The TCP 200/16 container pump with its outstanding performance parameters is the next step in the evolution of modern ink supply systems, keeping pace with the demands of ever faster printing presses. The design concept of the system also includes user-friendly software that controls and monitors the complete process. Ink consumption can be measured and recorded based on printing press or on an order-specific basis. With an online connection to the ink suppliers, it is no longer necessary to check fill levels in the big containers. Your supplier will be notified automatically when it is time for a new delivery. The peripheral equipment for these comprehensive solutions as well as the electronic components for integration in the system's control station will be on display at the technotrans booth.
Spray dampening unitsThe exhibits at IfraExpo 2007 are completed by the spray dampening units in the microspray.line in combination with delta.sd dampening solution units. This latest generation of technotrans spray dampening units is characterized by an especially narrow cross-section and can be serviced and cleaned without tools. The high operating pressure of the delta.sd dampening solution unit also ensures that the spray dampening units in the microspray.line are less susceptible to clogging.
technotrans solutions for the printing industry move suppliers to the periphery. We are your one-stop shop for consulting, planning, installation and maintenance. With a global network that spans the USA, Europe and Asia, we can provide a single point of contact for your printing company, together with a wide range of components.
